Administration and Business Services | Fiscal Oversight of School Districts
The county superintendent is required to approve or disapprove the adopted budget for each school district in the county, review two interim financial reports and monitor the fiscal solvency of the districts throughout the year. The adopted general fund budgets for 2008-09 total over $3.5 billion and provide for over 410,000 K-12 students. Our office prepares a Financial Comparison Report, which compares districts financials that is available to the public.
