School of Career Education (SCE) | Health Related Courses

Eligibility Information

Students interested in the following health related courses are required to complete a general ability assessment prior to registration.  To schedule an assessment appointment, contact the admissions office.  An assessment may be attempted twice during the registration period.  Some individuals are referred to adult education to upgrade academic skills.

• Acute Care/Community Health
• Registered Dental Assistant
• Emergency Medical Technician
• Medical Assistant Clinical
• Dental X-Ray Sterilization
• Medical Assistant Administration
• Dentrix Dental Office Administration
• Nurse Assistant
• Medical Billing & Coding
• Pharmacy Technician

The following courses do not require an assessment:

• First Responder
• Medical Terminology
• Medical Core

Additional classes are available for students with a Nurse Assistant Certification and students who are Registered Dental Assistant applicants:

• Acute Nurse Assistant
• Dental
  • Coronal Polishing
  • Pit & Fissure Sealant
  • Ultrasonic Scaling
