David L. Long Regional Learning Center

graduate is congratulated on stageWelcome!  The David L. Long Regional Learning Center is an alternative education school offering a variety of programs and activities for all students. The staff is committed to our core values of building a culture of trust, respect, and high expectations through open and honest communication, and focusing on the needs of our students to be successful in school and in life.  Our programs include Community School, Independent Study, Come Back Kids (CBK), Audiology and Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and the Murrieta Medical Therapy Unit (MTU).

The Community School program at David L. Long serves students in middle and high school who have been expelled from their resident school.  Students attend class daily and have opportunities to earn credits, participate in an intramural sports program, take Art and Career Technical Education courses, participate in substance abuse counseling, engage in therapeutic social-emotional counseling, and work towards their community service goals.   If your student has been expelled from school, please contact our office to find out how we can help reengage your student and help him/her get back on track!

Our Independent Study Program targets students in grades 7th through 12th.  Students receive one-on-one personalized instruction with their teacher on a weekly basis.  Students work side-by-side with our dedicated and caring staff members to achieve the educational goals they have always desired!

The Come Back Kids Charter school program targets students’ ages 16-23 years old that have struggled to find that small, personalized connection with their school and instructional program.  Our teachers work with students to develop individualized learning plans that target each student’s needs.  Teachers and students meet on a weekly basis to pursue their high school diploma at their own pace.  This program is designed for the older student who may have dropped out of school, lost interest, or life just simply got in the way of earning their high school diploma.  Students work one-on-one with their teachers while they work, take care of their family, or finish up that last 5 credits they missed at their traditional high school.  Don’t wait to enroll, call today for CBK!  (951) 249-8700.

The David L. Long Regional Learning Center is an approved HiSET (GED) testing facility.  If you have questions about taking the HiSET (GED), please call (951) 249-8700.

The Audiology and Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Program serves students from preschool to 22 years old for deaf and hard of hearing students that are in public schools within Riverside County.  The DHH program boasts audiologists who do assessments, provide training to district personnel,  and support the RCOE DHH Special Day classes.  If your son or daughter is experiencing audiological problems in school, call now for guidance and help! (951) 249-4603.

The Murrieta Medical Therapy Unit (MTU) is a California Children Services Program (CCS).  MTU provides physical and occupational therapy to children 0-21 years that have a qualifying physical therapeutics diagnosis.  For more information on how to qualify for MTU, please call (951) 249-8770 or the main office at (951) 358-5401.
