Educational Leadership Services (ELS)
The Division of Educational Leadership Services is dedicated to advancing the mission of the Riverside County Office of Education: to ensure the success of all students through extraordinary service, support and partnerships. To accomplish this, we are committed to being the connectors and supporters of all service providers within RCOE, and to sustain and expand our division’s continuum of leadership development services to our external clients as well as our internal staff.
John Maxwell has stated, “Leadership doesn’t make a difference, it makes the difference.” We embrace this premise and will focus on preparing and developing the highest caliber leadership at all levels of educational administration.
The support and services provided through this division will be in service of meeting the pressing needs and challenges facing public education today in recruiting, developing and retaining high quality educational leaders. In order to provide a comprehensive continuum of leadership support to districts, we will continue our current programs, and by convening focus groups from client districts, determine what additional services are needed. We envision the development of a support system that will enable our districts to select and develop their own leaders from within. We believe that developing internal leadership, including succession planning, will enable our districts to sustain the effective improvement initiatives for student achievement and success that are currently underway throughout the county.
A major internal initiative is the RCOE Leadership Academy for RCOE employees. It is a customized leadership training for classified and certificated managers who are members of the Management Leadership Team. We also offer a menu of leadership workshops open to all classified and certificated employees called 360° Leadership Workshops.
The Division of Educational Leadership Services is also dedicated to supporting all divisions of RCOE in the pursuit of fulfilling the Mission, Vision, Values and Commitments. We provide consultation, workshop development, and the development of systems of accountability and recognition.
Extraordinary leadership will result in extraordinary service, support and partnerships in order to ensure the success of all students. We are committed to the development of extraordinary leaders.
