California Technology Assistance Project - CTAP logoCalifornia Technology Assistance Project - CTAP

The California Technology Assistance Project of Region 10 (Riverside, Inyo, Mono and San Bernardino counties) known as RIMS CTAP offers areas of services for Professional Development for Teachers, Grants and Funding, Professional Development for Administrators, and Assessment Support. RIMS CTAP provides a variety of professional development opportunities that focus on research-based instructional practices utilizing technology.

Leading Edge Certification is designed around iNACOL's National Standards for Quality Online Teaching, fulfilling the needs of individual educators to move their curriculum online into a meaningful, engaging environment. Content includes building community, moderating discussions, supporting diverse learners, and implementing frequent formative assessments.

iTELL integrating Technology for English Learners (iTELL) is a three-day program designed to prepare teachers to implement research-based strategies that integrate technology in their classrooms.

Coaching Academy: The coaching academy is an ongoing training for Technology Integration Coaches in best practices of technology integration, coaching and mentoring skills, classroom observation and modeling techniques, and effective instructional practices.

EASI-U: The EASI-U online course provides participants with background information, lessons, and student resources to support information literacy, copyright, and Internet safety. This course addresses the requirements of the Chavez Bill (AB 307).

Marzano Strategies Integrated with Technology: In this workshop participants will examine the nine research-based learning strategies identified by Robert Marzano in Classroom Instruction that Works, and explore how technology can be used to help students improve their learning.

ExamView : This one-day workshop supports research-based practices through effective use of interactive wireless devices to improve student engagement in the areas of Formative Assessment and Engaging Activities. This specialized workshop has been designed for those educators who are currently using the Interwrite PadTM on a regular basis in their classroom or in a leadership role.

Grant Program Rollouts: RIMS CTAP disseminates information on state education technology grant programs, assists in the grant writing process, and assists the CDE with compliance information. Grant rollout workshops focus on the criteria, timelines, and guidelines for submission.

District Technology Planning: RIMS CTAP provides guidance on revising district technology plans to meet state guidelines. A state-approved technology use plan is required to receive any state or federal education technology funds such as EETT Formula funding, or to participate in the K-12 Voucher program.

Organization Management System: OMS allows educational institutions to monitor accountability for services they provide to schools, districts, and county offices of education. OMS users create on-line registrations for their professional development workshops, meetings, and special events. The OMS allows users to align their events to local goals and objectives, track event attendance, email event participants, and more. For analyzing the services provided, the OMS generates a variety of exportable reports.

Technology Leadership Network: The CTAP Technology Leadership Network (TLN) provides a forum for technology and curriculum leaders and educators. Agendas reflect issues and strategies with a focus on technology plan components: Curriculum, Hardware and Infrastructure, Partnerships and Stakeholders, Data-Driven Decision Making, and Professional Development. Guest speakers from around the state are featured.

State Student Technology Showcase: Each year Riverside County has had outstanding students and their teachers demonstrate how technology can help them meet state curriculum standards.
