Educational Services | RCOE Title III Accountability and Support
The Riverside County Office of Education is designated as county lead for the Title III support which includes Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) that have failed to meet one or more of their Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAOs) with their EL subgroup for four consecutive years, under NCLB. These LEAs are required to work with their regional lead County Office of Education to analyze data, verify causes, prioritize key challenge areas, and propose solutions to meet all AMAOs in the future. LEAs are then charged with the task to collaboratively create and implement an online research-based EL Action Plan. The plan incorporates these solutions in order to improve academic achievement and/or English proficiency of English Learners by effectively modifying curriculum, program, and method of instruction.
The Riverside County Office of Education works in collaboration with the California Department of Education, and the California Comprehensive Center, using specific analytical tools to assist the LEA in the Action Plan process. The CDE has also identified several observational tools suggested for use in the evaluation of programs for English Learners.
