In the event of inclement weather or an emergency situation, the Riverside County Office of Education takes every precaution to ensure the safety of students.

Emergency during School

Depending on the type of emergency, decisions will be made by County officials in collaboration with the Riverside County Sheriff and local Police Department.

Please do not call the school, or transportation, or RCOE. If the phone lines are working, they are to be used only for emergency communication. The County will communicate decisions through the radio, TV, and Internet sites listed above.

RCOE has a centralized Department Operations Center (DOC), and each school site has a building Incident Command. These teams have developed plans for and hold drills on a variety of crises.  As part of these emergency plans, there is trained staff in the schools to respond to these various incidents.
