The Great ShakeOut
The Great California ShakeOut is a day of special events featuring the largest earthquake drill ever, organized to inspire Californians to get ready for big earthquakes, and to prevent disasters from becoming catastrophes.
What we do now, before a big earthquake, will determine what our lives will be like afterwards. The ShakeOut drill will occur in houses, businesses, and public spaces alike throughout California at 10:20 a.m. on October 20, 2011.
Last year, nearly 6.9 million Californians participated in the 2009 ShakeOut Drill statewide.
The Riverside County Office of Education encourages all school districts, colleges, individuals and families to participate.
Register now and join our goal of 10 million participants in 2011 practicing quake safety!
