Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Leadership Conference: All Standards, All Students: Making the NGSS Accessible to All Students!


The first annual Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Leadership Conference brings district leadership teams together with California and national leaders in science education to support the transition and implementation of the NGSS. The conference is provided through a collaboration of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, Riverside County Office of Education, the Southern California Association of Science Specialists, the Inland Area Science Project, and the Region 10 District Science Leadership Network-Community of Practice.

The 2017 NGSS Leadership Conference topics:

  • Creating, implementing, and refining an implementation plan for NGSS
  • Exploring strategies to inspire and engage all students in science
  • Update and status of K-12 California Science Test
  • Supporting K-12 science and environmental literacy efforts
  • Make learning visible through notebooking

Our featured speaker is Emily C. Miller. Ms. Miller, a lead writer for the Diversity and Equity Team on the Next Generation Science Standards, a memeber of the NGSS writers team, and co-author of NGSS for All Students, with Dr. Okahee Lee, a professor in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University.
