Translators' Network meets to enhance services to students and families
The Riverside County Office of Education hosted the fall Translators' Network meeting on November 9, 2009 with a total of 32 translators/interpreters from many Riverside County school districts. The Riverside group was joined by translators/interpreters from Ontario-Montclair SD, Fontana USD, and Rialto USD.
Maggie Carrillo, School Psychologist, presented the different components of psychological reports, and Kris Nicholls presented an overview of the Math Standards along with pertinent vocabulary.
Everyone left with a better understanding of the material they are asked to translate, and this is something that will undoubtedly enhance the services they provide to our Spanish speaking families.
