First Annual Early Childhood Parent Conference set for June 5
The First Annual Early Childhood Parent Conference will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Riverside Convention Center, 3442 Orange Street, Riverside.
The conference is for parents involved in the early childhood program offered by the Riverside County Office of Education. (Registration for conference is closed.)
There will be nineteen 19 presenters at this inaugural conference for the parents of preschoolers. Among them will be renowned musician Lloyd Marbrey from Colorado who will use music to give parents a message about how different ways children can learn.
Gerry Lopez, Senior Riverside County Deputy District Attorney and a premier expert in the area of gangs, will present, “Protecting Our Precious Ones,” a primer for the parents on how to keep young children and neighborhoods safe from gangs.
Other workshops will include practical strategies, and fun and engaging activities that participants can easily implement at home. Numerous resource vendors will have booths at the conference showcasing their services for families.
