Evening summer school opportunity
Kenneth M. Young, Riverside County Superintendent of Schools, today (June 28, 2010) announced there will be an evening summer school offered 4:00-8:00 p.m. July 6 - August 13, 2010, at three regional learning centers in Perris, San Jacinto and Riverside.
Evening summer school is an opportunity for high school students to recover credits and receive assistance in passing either the English/Language Arts or mathematics sections of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to attend. The CAHSEE will be administered on Thursday, July 29.
In addition to CAHSEE preparation, courses in core content areas of English/Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social science will also be available for students who did not pass these classes. Students may earn up to 10 credits if all course requirements are met.
Students must contact one of the three regional learning centers listed below to enroll prior to July 6, and are expected to return to their home district high school at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year.
