swears in new members
Two new and one returning members of the Riverside County Board of Education were sworn into office on Wednesday (July 11, 2012). Seats for five out of seven trustee areas were on the ballot June 5.
Winners included three Board newcomers: Former Riverside Unified School District Superintendent Susan J. Rainey (Trustee Area 3); retired teacher and former Shasta County superintendent Ralph R. Villani (Trustee Area 5); and former Nuview Union School District superintendent Jay N. Hoffman (Trustee Area 7).
Returning to the Board are incumbents Bruce Dennis of Nuevo (Trustee Area 4) and Elizabeth Romero Toledo of Thermal (Trustee Area 6).
The final two members of the Board are Gerald P. Colapinto of Corona (Trustee Area 1) and Lynne D. Craig from the Jurupa area (Trustee Area 2).
At the same meeting, trustees chose their officers for the next year: President Gerald P. Colapinto, and Vice President Elizabeth Romero Toledo.
