10th Annual Education Summit
set for Thursday, October 25, 2012 Tom Torlakson, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, will speak at the 10th Annual Riverside County Education Summit and Models of Excellence Recognition Luncheon scheduled for Thursday, October 25, 2012.
The Summit, presented by Riverside County Superintendent of Schools Kenneth Young, will be held at the Palm Springs Convention Center, 277 N. Avenida Caballeros, Palm Springs. The theme this year is “K-12 College and Career Readiness for the 21st Century.”
There will also be a keynote address by Willard Daggett, CEO of the International Center for Leadership in Education, an internationally recognized expert in improving education systems.
More than 400 educators, parents, and community leaders are expected to attend.
The day will be devoted to a series of workshops on school programs that have earned the distinction of “Models of Academic Excellence.” Each award winner will be recognized at a lunchtime ceremony.
Each program being recognized as a Model of Academic Excellence has a proven track record resulting in an increase in student academic achievement.
