Outstanding High School Programs recognized
Dr. David Long, Riverside County Superintendent of Schools, announced the first-ever “Riverside County High School Models of Excellence Awards” March 6.
The “Models of Excellence Awards” recognize programs that improve student achievement. There were 19 programs from 12 high schools and eight school districts represented in the awards program.
Nominees submitted information about their programs and data. Schools were visited by teams from the Riverside County Office of Education. Schools with exemplary and promising practices will present during the conference.
This year the program focuses on high schools. Next year, the program will focus on elementary schools, much like the California Distinguished School program. Each school was given a banner, much like the California Distinguished School banner, to display at their school.
