Mock Trial individual winners, pairings for Elite 8 Round named

Individual winners and pairings for the Elite 8 Round of the 28th Annual Mock Trial were announced Saturday, February 27, 2010, after four rounds of competition. Mock Trial began February 10. (Photos from the ceremony)

Mock Trial involves students arguing cases in front of real judges and scored by real attorneys. The case this year is People v. Bratton, a murder case. The event is sponsored by the Riverside County Office of Education, Riverside County Bar Association, and Riverside Superior Court.

The Elite Eight Competition is Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the Riverside Hall of Justice.  The Semi-Finals are Saturday, March 6, starting at 9 a.m., followed by the Championship Round at 1 p.m.  The Final Awards Ceremony is at 3 p.m. at the Riverside Historic Courthouse. The winning team will compete March 19-21 at the California State Mock Trial Competition to be held in San Jose. (See Pairings for Elite Eight Round and Individual Winners Below).
