Finishing second was Poly High School (Riverside), which won last year's competition. Temecula Valley High School and Marywood Palm Valley High School tied for third.
The winning team will compete March 19-21 at the California State Mock Trial Competition to be held in San Jose. Mock Trial, which began February 10, involves students arguing cases in front of real judges and scored by real attorneys. The case this year is People v. Bratton, a murder case. The event is sponsored by the Riverside County Office of Education, Riverside County Bar Association, and Riverside Superior Court.
