History Day

photo of History Day participantsMore than 300 students in grades four through 12 from throughout Riverside County competed on March 19 in Riverside County History Day. Riverside County History Day is part of the larger National History Day program and competition. History Day helps students refine critical thinking and research skills used in all subject areas.

Students are entered in one of three divisions: fourth/fifth grade posters, junior (grades six through eight) or senior (grades nine through 12). Students chose their own topics related to the theme "Communication in History: Key to Understanding." The students produced posters, documentaries, exhibits, research papers, original performances, and web sites. (For a complete list of winners, visit the web site, www.rcoe.us.).
