Education Summit
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell called
for closing the “achievement gap” between African-American,
Hispanic and Caucasian students at the Fifth Annual Riverside
County Education Summit last October.
More than 350 education and county leaders attended the event, sponsored by the Riverside County Office of Education and the Altura Credit Union.
The Summit is designed to bring together education and community leaders in order to build relationships and focus on strategies to improve achievement for all students, enhance services to districts and schools, and increase public awareness of educational issues at the national, state and local levels.
Save the date — The Sixth Annual Riverside County Education
Summit is scheduled for October 9 & 10, 2008, in Palm Desert.
