Each year the Riverside County Office of Education sponsors county level competition for the following events:

History Day
250 students participated at county level
First Place National Medalists
Osten Anderson, Amelia Earhart Middle School (Riverside USD)
Sharlyn Nelson, Norco High School (Corona-Norco USD)

Inland Area Science and Engineering Fair
750 projects from Riverside, Inyo, Mono and San Bernardino counties

32nd Annual Riverside County Spelling Bee
30 students participated
First place: Paul Uzzo, Vista Verde Middle School, Val Verde USD

Riverside County Mock Trial
28 schools participated
First place: Poly High School (Riverside USD)

Riverside County Academic Decathlon
22 teams (20 schools, 198 students) participated
First place: West Valley High School (Hemet USD)
