On any given day 32,000 students are taking a career or technical education class in all 23 Riverside County districts. Read more »

Next Generation Science Standards
Classrooms throughout the county are currently incorporating Next Generation Science Standards that are preparing students for careers in STEM and helping them make sense of the complexity of their world. Read more »

High School Graduation Rates
One way we can help students realize their goals, is to ensure they graduate from high school. All the research reveals that earning a diploma enhances success in life and careers. Read more »

Early Learning Programs
Long before graduation caps and gowns become the fashion symbol of student success, young children in preschool programs across the county are launching their career as students. Read more »

California School Dashboard
As educators, we are constantly looking at data to help point out areas of focus to more equitably serve students. As most of you know, last year, the State Board of Education and the California Department of Education released the new California School Dashboard. Read more »

Ready for the Call
I’d like to end our time together with a story. A few years ago, my husband had just finished playing basketball at a local L.A. Fitness health club. As he was walking out with a friend, my husband suffered a heart attack in the parking lot. Read more »

That means establishing an overarching priority in our work with the State Legislature to ensure that education legislation approved at the State Capitol is student-centered, provides an equality of opportunity for all students, and is focused on preparing all students for success in college and the workforce.
