RIVERSIDE – What began with the question of how best to provide migrant education students with a workshop to learn about responsible and efficient use of artificial intelligence has led to the first-ever Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) Next Gen Intelligence AI Summit.
Organized by the Innovation and Competitive Advantage Unit and the Migrant Education Unit at the Riverside County Office of Education, the day-long event will take place on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the University of California Riverside’s Palm Desert Center (75080 Frank Sinatra Drive, Palm Desert, CA 92211).
Workshops at the event will be led by representatives from:
- Adobe
- Common Sense Education
- Khan Academy
Goals of the event are to:
- Equip students with responsible AI usage skills
- Enhance academic performance through an AI-powered tutoring platform
- Provide equitable access to advanced educational technology.
At the conclusion of the event, all students will participate in an AI Prompt Battle and receive year-long complimentary access to Khan Academy's AI-powered tutor, Khanmigo.
“This first-of-its-kind summit means more Riverside County students will be able to confidently navigate our evolving world, and this is the true competitive edge our students need to build thriving futures,” said Riverside County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Edwin Gomez.
