While COVID-19 has brought many uncertainties and challenges, one thing for sure, ShakeOut is still on! This year marks the 13th Annual ShakeOut Drill, which began in Southern California in 2008.
Since then ShakeOut has grown to include participation across the United States and several other countries. More than 67 million people worldwide participated in 2019 with over 6.2 million representing schools in California.
This year, Great California and International ShakeOut Day will be at 10:15 a.m. on October 15.
Visit Official California Shake Out Website to find out more on how to prepare and respond.
What we do now will determine what our lives will be like after an earthquake. The ShakeOut drill will occur in homes, schools (in-person or virtual) and businesses alike throughout California at 10:15 a.m. on October 15, 2020.
The Riverside County Office of Education encourages all schools, colleges, individuals and families to sign-up and participate. Register now and join in 2020 practicing quake safety.
