The District Fiscal Services staff reviews budget information from Riverside County’s school districts. Once a local school board approves its district budget, it is forwarded to the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) for review. This review looks at the district’s ability to meet its financial obligations for the budget year and the two following years. Attention is paid to trends in district enrollments, spending habits and income projections. Each district superintendent and school board president receives a notice of findings, with comments from RCOE staff.
