CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
Executive Assistant to the Superintendent
All types of urgent phone calls, email, and meeting requests land on the desk of Cheryl Anderson throughout a typical workday in the office of the superintendent. The requests come from board members, parents, vendors, employees, community members, and just about anybody else looking to connect with the district. Between the routing and replying of each and every request, Ms. Anderson receives a wide variety of assignments whose deadlines are often as sensitive as the confidential material contained therein. When it comes to supporting the superintendent, she is focused on freeing his time up to the best of her abilities so he can focus on the coordination of student achievement. Colleagues appreciate “her quiet leadership, grace, and impeccable professionalism” and “her capacity to care about the work and the impact it has on others.” She is an active member in her church where she helps give away food to the needy at community events, and is involved as a mentor to local high school students.
