Human Rights

Fundamental freedoms and protections that ensure the participation of individuals in a society. These human rights include political and civil rights, social and economic rights, and cultural and minority rights.

Civil Rights

Fundamental freedoms that ensure that all individuals have the same legal protections and opportunities. These civil rights include right to life and security, freedom of speech and expression, freedom of religion, right to vote and participate in governance, equality before the law, right to a fair trial and due process, right to assembly and protest, right to privacy, equal access to public services, freedom from slavery and forced labor, and the right to petition the government.
