Career Technical Education Unit
The Riverside County Office of Education's Career Technical Education (CTE) Unit, which includes the Regional Occupational Program (ROP), serves more than 13,000 students each year with high-quality career training and academic instruction. In close partnership with districts across Riverside County, RCOE leads the effort to design and deliver CTE programs intentionally aligned to labor market needs, ensuring students gain the skills and certifications that lead to success in college, career, and life. By combining rigorous academics with technical training, RCOE provides students with a competitive edge in today's fast-changing economy.
Our teachers bring both classroom expertise and real-world industry experience to their students, creating engaging, hands-on learning environments. More than 9,000 students are enrolled in UC a-g approved RCOE CTE courses, and nearly 6,000 students are earning articulated college credit through RCOE CTE curriculum. These pathways not only strengthen student achievement and graduation rates but also accelerate progress toward postsecondary goals.
With over 200 business and community partners, RCOE's CTE programs connect students directly to the workplace through internships, mentoring, and other work-based learning opportunities. Together with our district partners, we are expanding opportunities that are relevant, rigorous, and responsive to the regional economy, empowering Riverside County students to step confidently into the future with a true competitive edge.
