Accessing Head Start and Early Head Start Services and Resources During Center and Office Closures

By order of the Public Health Officer of the County of Riverside, all schools (including preschools) and universities are closed through June 19, 2020.  In conjunction with the closure order and for the health and well-being of all Head Start/Early Head Start students, families and staff, the program will continue to maintain student and family engagement utilizing a virtual and remote based model.  To this end, all program staff continue to work remotely during the closure and will maintain contact with students and families through direct contact telephone calls and at home learning activities.

For enrolled families, assigned Community Assistants will conduct remote home-visits via weekly telephone contact are available to assist to the greatest extent possible with family support services.  Instructional staff will likewise maintain direct contact with enrolled families and to the greatest extent assist and provide individualized academic activities for parents and caregivers to provide at home.

For prospective or re-applying families, processes are being established for an accessible and secure method to remotely submit new applications and corresponding eligibility documents.  Please check the website periodically for updates.
