The Assessment, Accountability, and Continuous Improvement (AACI) unit provides assessment, data, planning, and technical assistance services to support districts and schools in improving student outcomes. Assessment support focuses on statewide assessments such as the Smarter Balanced assessments under the umbrella of the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and English Learner Proficiency Assessments of California (ELPAC). Data services include support with data accuracy, data analytics, data reports, and dynamic data visualizations through a variety of digital platforms. Strategic planning support includes a focus on building educator capacity in developing the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), LCAP Federal Addendum, and School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).
AACI convenes a variety of networks and workshops to enable district leaders to connect with job-alike peers while also providing a venue to update educators on recent legislation, effective resources, and best practices related to their role. Networks and workshops include:
- California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data Systems (CALPADS) Network
- Project and English Learner Directors (PELD) Network
- Riverside County Assessment Network (RCAN)
- LCAP Leads and LCAP Teams
