Subject Area Support & Training Description:

Secondary AVID

The RIMS AVID team provides coaching, workshops, and PLC training to AVID trained administrators and educators. The AVID College Readiness System is a catalyst for developing a school culture that closes the achievement, expectation and opportunity gaps that many students face. It prepares all students for success in a global society. The AVID College Readiness System at the secondary level is used by schools as an elective class to improve academic performance. AVID College Readiness System in the secondary grades is used by schools to improve academic and social skills to help students develop the habits and behaviors needed to succeed in rigorous curriculum in order to qualify for college/university acceptance of all students, especially those who come from difficult backgrounds and are frequently underserved. There is a new school wide transformational effort underway focused on leadership, systems, instruction and culture for all students.
