What is the Riverside County Seal of Multiliteracy?

The Seal of Multiliteracy is an award given by the Riverside County Office of Education in partnership with districts in recognition of high levels of attained proficiency in English and at least one other world language by high school graduation.

    STUDENTS:
  • Submit an Intent to Apply form. (Deadline Friday, Aug 30th)
  • Submit a Parent Authorization form:
  • Student must download the
    Parent Authorization form and
    upload the completed form.

    Site Representative:
  • Email list of students who have submitted an Intent to Apply to galaniz@rcoe.us. (Deadline Aug. 30th)
  • Submit School Verification online form for each student. (Deadline Sept. 6th)
  • Note: Please keep a copy of the Parent Authorization form for your records.

Demonstrate proficiency in English
  • Students must be on track* to completing all English-language arts (ELA) requirements for graduation with an overall GPA of 2.0 or above in those classes.
  • Students must have passed the CAASPP in ELA (administered in grade eleven), at or above the “standard met” achievement level.
  • Pass the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) II foreign language exam with a score of 600 or higher.
Additional Eligibility Criteria for a Student Whose Primary Language is not English
  • Demonstrating English language proficiency on ELPAC, by scoring an Overall Performance level of “moderately developed” or higher and
    a score of “well-developed” in listening, speaking, reading and writing, in transitional kindergarten or kindergarten through grade 12, inclusive.
Demonstrate Proficiency in a Language Other than English
  • Students must demonstrate proficiency in one or more languages other than English through one of the following methods:
    • Pass a foreign language Advanced Placement (AP) exam, including American Sign Language, with a score of three or higher, or
    • Students must have passed the CAASPP in ELA (administered in grade eleven), at or above the “standard met” achievement level.
    • Pass the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) II world language exam with a score of 600 or higher, or
  • Students who do not meet one of the above criteria may demonstrate proficiency in another language by passing the
    Riverside County On-Demand Assessment.
Please note: You will get notified of your status once we verify you have met the eligibility criteria.
Site Representative must download the School Verification form for each student and upload the completed form
with the student transcript.

Site/School representative must submit a list of students who have met the eligibility criteria.

On Demand Assessment Day on Saturday, October 12, 2019.
