WELCOMING STUDENT SUBMISSIONS
Deadline to submit student plays:
August 31, 2020
The Riverside County Office of Education Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) welcomes student submissions to The Palm Springs Young Playwrights Festival. Winning plays will be read in one-day festival at the Palm Springs Cultural Arts Center.
Plays must be submitted by email or mailed postmarked by August 31, 2020.
There are no fees for submitting your work to the Festival.
Playwrights must be 18 years old or younger on August 31, 2020; co-written plays are allowed, provided all writers meet age requirement.
Original plays on any subject.
Up to 3 plays per playwright or playwright team.
Plays should be 10 pages (minimum) to 40 pages (maximum).
Plays must have numbered script pages. Plays submitted by email must be sent as PDF. Plays submitted by mail must be
printed on one side and unbound. Submissions must include a cover sheet with: Title, Playwright Name, Playwright Date
of Birth (with year), Age, School Name, Email Address, Contact Phone Number, Mailing Address.
Scripts will not be returned, so please do not send originals.
Festival competition winners will be contacted the first week of October 2020.
Winning plays will be read in the one-day Festival at The Palm Springs Cultural Arts Center (Camelot Movie Theatre), date TBD.
