The Foster Youth Services Coordinating Program frequently organizes Special Events for foster youth students. These special events help provide the motivation and inspiration students need in order to succeed.
College Bound Welcome Day
Offered by the Riverside Community College District, four dates and locations are available for students to learn about campus support programs, financial aid, degree and CTE programs, and how to succeed in college.

January 31, 2020, for Seniors ONLY – Norco College
March 20, 2020, for 10th-11th Grades ONLY – Norco College

Seniors, Our Rising Scholars Event
Join us for a fun-filled day where we will honor our foster youth seniors.
Our keynote speaker Mr. Rodney Walker will inspire students to go from ”Foster Care to Yale”. Students will receive assistance in completing their college application.
Dynamic speakers will motivate students to pursue their post-secondary options. There will be opportunities for students to meet and speak to colleges, trade schools, military, and universities representatives.
Breakfast, lunch, and a snack will be provided.

6th Annual Foster and Homeless Youth Services Summit
The 6th Annual Foster and Homeless Youth Services Summit includes workshop presentations by California Department of Education, partner agencies and local school district personnel. Topics include: available services to assist foster and homeless youth beyond graduation, wellness, nutrition and self-care, district and trauma informed best practices, CALPADS data performance and legislative updates.
