College Signing Day/ Commitment to My Future Day

In Riverside County, College Signing Day and Commitment to My Future Day are annual celebrations held in April and May as part of the county's college-and-career readiness initiatives.

College Signing Day (High Schools)

College Signing Day is modeled after athletic signing ceremonies, but it recognizes all seniors who have committed to a postsecondary pathway, including:

  • Four-year universities
  • Community colleges
  • Trade and technical schools
  • Apprenticeships
  • Military service

Students publicly celebrate their next step after high school, often by wearing college gear, signing commitment banners, participating in assemblies, and sharing their plans with classmates and families.

Commitment to My Future Day (Elementary and Middle Schools)

Commitment to My Future Day is the companion event for younger students. Rather than committing to a specific college, students make a commitment to:

  • Their future education
  • Career exploration
  • Academic success
  • Long-term goals

Schools often host activities such as career dress-up days, college awareness events, goal-setting activities, guest speakers, and classroom discussions about future careers and higher education. Our overall goal is to strengthen a countywide college-going culture and increase the number of students who pursue education and training after high school.
