Translation and Interpreting Services

Clear communication is essential for family participation and student success. When information is accessible and easy to understand, families are better able to connect with schools, programs, and services.

The Translation and Interpretation Services Unit, part of the Student Programs and Services Division at the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE), provides countywide support for language access. Our work strengthens communication between RCOE programs, school districts, and the diverse communities we serve, ensuring families can access information and services in a language they understand.

Our mission is to provide high-quality translation and interpreting services that support clear communication and meaningful language access for families and educational communities across Riverside County.

Our vision is for every family to experience clear, respectful, and accessible communication, ensuring language is never a barrier to understanding or participation in educational programs and services.

We support internal departments at the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) and collaborate with school districts across the county to ensure effective communication across languages. Through professional translation and interpretation services, we help programs and educational partners provide clear and accessible information to the families they serve.

We also serve as a countywide resource on language access practices and communicative autonomy, offering guidance and support to strengthen communication with multilingual communities.

Our services include:

• Written translation of educational, programmatic, and family-facing materials

• Oral interpretation for meetings, events, workshops, and conferences

• Guidance and technical support related to language access planning and implementation

• Professional development through the annual Language Access Conference, supporting best practices and collaboration across the region

• Language support for organizations and entities that do not have in-house services
